anyone got a good salmon filet recipe?
Just a basic no fuss way to bake salmon
Any shard of bone remove
Place salmon filet on a piece of foil on a baking pan
Shake some black pepper on filet
Place in oven at 400 degrees for approx 30-40 minutes
{depending on size of fillet}
Remove from oven
If so desire squeeze some lemon atop of filet
Enjoy
thanks. sounded good :)
i ended up frying mine over medium heat for about 5-6 minutes on each side, and then wok some vedgies with it .. turned out good as well :)
another way...
In a mixing bowl:
Take a 16 oz. size can of Alaska Red Salmon
{remove any skin and bones}
add two eggs
one small size onion chopped
salt and pepper to taste
Italian seasonings if choose for added flavor
and/or a few squeezes of fresh lemon
mix
take a 9" by 9" glass baking dish
spray with non-stick Pam
Add the salmon mixture
Bake at 400 degrees for 30 minutes
I like this with a salad on the side and mashed potatoes.
FURTHER NOTE: if choose instead of placing
the salmon mixture in oven to bake
may decide rather to scoop the mixture into patties
and dropping into a shallow amount of hot vegetable shortening
in a frying pan on top of stove.
Takes only few moments on each side
Then when removing from pan
place the salmon patties on a plate that has paper towels
so as to remove excess vegetable oil.
Note: Also if salmon mixture is too soft like to form patties
may need to add some crushed up white cracker crumbs to the mixture
or if you don't have the crackers, may toss in some bread crumbs.
ALSO: I like the way you made with the wok and the veggies.
Seems like broccoli would be a tasty veggie to add.
Um, a website that have tones and I mean tones! of recipes is www.cooks.com...
And lots of cool desserts too.
yeah i know about that website, but a problem there is that there is so much of it that contains canned products we don't have here in Norway. when it comes to recipe sites however, i prefer allrecipes.com . alot easier to navigate :)

Aw, I see. Oh well. That is a good site, though.
And I meant tons, sorry for being so caught up in my mind.
...also on a further note:
I remember as a youngster growing up
My Aunt would make salmon patties
and then make a gravy to pour over them.
I remember it was tasty only I never got into
preparing them that a way...
All this salmon talk... I am getting kinda hungry
*smiles...
40 minutes at 400 degrees? good gosh your salmon will be drier than the desert of sahara. sorry
In the summers My sister in law's step son is a commercial salmon fisherman in Alaska. a couple times the's sent out frozen fish to people at christmas. apparently the company he catches for gives them a discount or something. anyway, here is the recipe he sends and then i'll give you another one at the end.
cup one green or red pepper in to strips. you can use half and half is you want.
cut one red or yellow onion in to rounds or chunks.
lay half the veggies in the bottom of a baking pan
put your salmon, or any other firm fish like halibut on top and season as you would like.
put the remaining veggies atop the fish.
bake at 350 for at least 40 minutes.
here's my recipe
salmon for when i am starving and in a frenzied hurry
line a baking pan with foil
grease generously with butter
season one side of the fillet with garlic powder or other seasons you might like to ttaste.
Toss that puppy unseasoned side down in the greased pan and run it around over the bbutter .
Bake at 400 for 20 minutes. If you bake it longer i will come whip your ass.
you will know if any fish is done if it flakes with a fork. don't overcook that salmon you paid premium dollar for it!!!
flip it over and season as you did with the first side.

Well aren't you the violent one in the kitchen
Can't always go by the gauge...
Realizing of course that one persons' oven set at 400*
may in actuality be close to or even lower
in heat than another persons'
that is set at 350*
Yes, a need for each person to check
the product they are baking so as to
have the desired doneness
Am glad you brought this topic forward
Was giving consideration as to what to make for dinner
...there is some salmon, come to think
so how did youmake your salmon grace? for the record, I am not a violent person. I wouldn't hurt a fly unless it was on my salmon.
Now I'm hungry, again. lol
I did some salmon with black pepper a year ago on the grill, the daughter was gone (she scorns fish of all sorts) and I did it on these cedar plancks which actually turned out really well. You don't even turn the fish, just cook with lid closed and you get flaky tender moist on top and firm on bottom.
Thanks for the recipies. I've just started eating fish recently so been looking for some salmon recipies. Can't wait to try some of these!
